Hi:

I ordered a new 120 GB HD, and doing a bit of research on partitioning
with FDISK, I came across one possible obstacle. I have WIN98SE.
Apparently, there is a problem with using FDISK with HDs larger than
64 GB. According to the following article,
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/Q263/0/44.ASP&NoWebContent=1
one should download the updated fidsk.exe only if one experiences the
problem described. My fdisk is dated from 4/99. SHould I download the
new fdisk anyway, even if I don't have the problem?

Thx

hi,
your new drive should come with a cd of utilities including software
to partition and format your new drive as well as copy the contents
of the old drive to the new . will your system recognize the 120 gb
drive ? many older system bios only recognize up to 32 gb . if that
is the case you will need a bios update if it is available . if not a
pci controller card or disk drive overlay software will be needed .
hope this helps,
terry
