i have read several articles regarding the partitioning of xp, such as
putting windows on its own partition and then having seperate partitions for
data, temp files etc etc.

does anyone know of any good articles on the subject. i am trying to install
my programs on a separate partition but some of the program insists on going
to c: instead of f: , even though i have pointed it in that direction.

programs go by design to the C drive or the drive where
your OS is installed. Use the other partitions to store
backups and personal files.
