Hello,

I want to create two partitions on my hard drive: one for Win98SE, one for WinXP. Will the WinXP NTFS install on a FAT or FAT32 partition? I don't need another WinXP partition to be accessible to other operating systems but I may have to transfer files between the partitions. Is it possible to transfer files between partitions using different FATs? Is it even possible to have partitions with different FATs on a single hard drive?

Sincerely,

Kirby

WindowsXP will see and be able to access the FAT32 partition even if it's
own partition is NTFS.

Windows98 will not be able to see, nor access the NTFS partition.

NTFS will not install on a FATx partition. You will need to create a new
partition and format it to NTFS. Or you can take a FATx partition and
convert it to NTFS (one way only).
