Hiya -

I am trying to find out if I can partition a drive in a
new Win XP computer without reinstalling the entire
operating system. I am looking to create a "virtual" file
server for my home office network. If this is not
possible, do you know of any other solution to accomplish
the same goal?

Thanks!!!

Nope...well, not natively, at least. Non-destructive partitioning requires a
3rd-party disk manager, such as Partition Magic 8 (www.powerquest.com).

Yes you can as long as you have the available space. Secondly I believe a
virtual drive is contingent on your RAM, not your hard drive. I could be
wrong.
Cheers Doug
