I made a partition on my 120 GB hard drive. One part is 5 GB and the other is 115 GB. I want to delete the partition and combine the two back up. How do I do that? I have already formatted the 115 GB, but it won't let me format the 5 GB part. And even so I can't find a way to combine them. How do I fix this? I wouldn't even mind restarting Windows XP from scratch.

Hi,

Without using third party software, the only way to combine them is to start
from scratch. You would need to boot the WinXP CD, start a new installation,
remove both partitions, then create just one new one, format, then install.

Partitioning programs:

BootIT NG www.terabyteunlimited.com
Partition Magic www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic
Partition Commander http://www.v-com.com/product/pc_ind.html
Ranish Partition Manager http://www.ranish.com/part/

Any of the above program should be able to help you.
