Hello - new here...
Can I partition and format a NTFS harddisc from a floppy disc?

Tried to install Windows xp32 and Windows xp64 (beta) on two separate
partitions on one hdd. It doesn't seem to work; can't get the computer to
start (boot) after I installed Windows xp 32. Any one else running Windows
XP 64-bit edition?

From a floppy disk? No. I take it that the machine you are trying to install
the windows xp 64bit beta edition on has a 64bit processor? If not then
that is the reason it doesn't work.
If you want to format in ntfs then you will need to use your xp cd and that,
unfortunately, will mean losing what is already on your hard drive. An
alternative would be to use third party software such as partition magic.
With this you can partition and format the new partition. The only problem
is it's not Free. You have to pay for it.

John,
I think also that the gentleman should post Computer Make and Model,
processor information, etc,. The Belarc Adviser or AIDA32 would, I think,
tell him all that quickly. I am also a little doubtful of any real need for
both 32 Bit And 64 Bit XP on the same machine; however my ignorance of the
64 Bit system should be evident.

Yes you can use a program called BootIt NG that fits on a floppy to
partition and format as NTFS. You can find it here
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ If you decide to use BootIt NG you boot
with the floppy and then cancel the option to install on your computer. You
will then run off the floppy. Go to "Partition Work" and you can do the
partitioning and formatting.

Thank you very much. I will try BootIt NG.
Thank you gentlemen!

Ulf
