Hi ... I am curious as to why it would be a good idea to
partition a hard drive that let say is 80GB ??? I mean
you can store everything that you need in the My
Documents folder also when you give your computer a name
it have a folder as well ... So i am curious as to why
partition a hard drive ???

Partitioning allows you to quickly and easily store critical data, somewhere
else. So, if you find that you need to format and reinstall, your OS will
be new, your apps reinstalled, but your data will still be safe on the other
partition. A second hard disk is best, but......................

Other reasons for partitioning include "slack" space. On a FAT32 drive, the
larger the drive, the larger the default cluster. A "cluster" is the
minimum number of sectors of the disk that are allocated any time a file is
created. This can range from 4 to 32 clusters, depending on the size of
the drive/partition. So, a 1 Kb file could take up 32 Kb of space, when
saved on a FAT32 drive. NTFS drives, if formatted or converted correctly
use a default 4 Kb cluster size, regardless of the size of the partition, so
its not so much of an issue with NTFS.

Hi... Okay thanks for that bit of info ... And i believe
you have a website ??? If i am correct which i think i
seen...
