How large is each partition and how much free space? How is each partition formatted i.e. FAT32 or NTFS?
I suggest you Enable Show Hidden Files and Folders. To enable show hidden
files select Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings
and place a check before Show Hidden Files and Folders. Next Enter Windows Explorer and place the cursor on each drive letter in turn, right click and select Properties.
Please confirm your computer is not Dual booting i.e. it will boot up in Windows 98 or Windows XP as you decide during the boot process. What type of files remain in your C partition?
The reason for asking is that you may be able to relocate files from your D partition to your C partition thereby avoid the need to resize the partitions.
To move programmes you need to uninstall and reinstall through Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs. To move Temporary Internet Files -Start, Control Panel, General tab, Temporary Internet Files, Settings, Move Folder. To relocate Outlook Express store select Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder, Change.
If your My Documents folder is in your D partition then create a My Files folder in your C partition and copy ( not move ) the contents of My Documents to your new folder. Then delete the files in your My Documents folder ( if you encounter problems deleting use Shift + Delete to bypass the Recycle Bin ).
How good is your housekeeping?
1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.
2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.
3. Remove Temporary Internet Files by selecting Start, Settings, Control Panel, Internet Options, General tab, Delete Files and check box for "Delete all offline content".
4. Empty Recycle Bin.
5. Run Disk Defragmenter in Safe Mode.

Hope this helps.
