All I want is for my partitioned hard drive to be rejoined as one and live happily ever after. All the info I can find tells me how to partition my hard drive, not how to undo it.

Hi Len,

That's because undoing it is more fraught with danger than doing it. As far
as I know, only one partitioning program can merge drives, that being
Partition Magic (see below). For the rest, you would need to copy data off,
then delete the partition followed by an operation to expand a remaining one
into the free space created.

Be aware that any partitioning work has some inherent dangers, and you
should backup anything you do not wish to lose to removable media before
beginning any work.

Partitioning programs:

BootIT NG www.terabyteunlimited.com
Partition Magic www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic
Partition Commander http://www.v-com.com/product/pc_ind.html
Ranish Partition Manager http://www.ranish.com/part/

Assuming you dont wish to destroy data in doing this, you need a third party
tool eg Partition Magic

Go to run,type:diskmgmt.ms
In msc R.click on the space for the unwanted partition, select, delete
Otherwise,L.click the partition,action,all,delete
This will work however as far as data goes? The only reason it wont is i
xp has it active in explorer,if so no big deal, install xp cd,restart computer, boo
to cd,recovery,press enter for password,in cmd type:DiskPar
in DiskPart anything is deletable, delete the partition, then es
Back in cmd i would type:CHKDSK C: /R When its thru type:EXI
youre done !
