I´m doing voluntary work in the Columbian countryside (no jokes). I am
using a PC, XP Pro with 2 partitions, n.2 has been deleted and I need the
extra space but cannot afford to wipe out the data on n.1,
how can I expand the main partition into the free space?
Can't get outside help or extra kit for at least 3 months!!!
Thanks

There is a lot of software which can help you. One of them is Acronis
partition manager. I use it and it works fine. Instruction step by step
for this program to solve your problem:
1.View -> Manual mode.
2.Your n.2 was deleted, so it must be unallocated (green color).
Otherwise, you can delete it: click right button on n.2 -> delete
partition -> press ok.
3.Click right button on n.1 -> move -> next -> choose the size of the
partition you need.
4.Commit.

BootItNG (www.bootitng.com) will do the job just fine.

A 30 day fully functioning free trial can be downloaded from the
website.

When you run the program it is not necessary to install it. All you
need to do is to create the diskette and then boot your computer with
the diskette. You can then adjust your partitions as you wish.

Good luck
