I just returned a new computer because of too many defects. Was forced to buy
the hd, WD 40gig because of personal info I needed. Now when I tried to make it
my master drive in my older computer, the bios won't recognize it...neither
Fdisk nor Partition Magic. It was just fine yesterday when I returned the
computer. I tried auto detect and nothing happens. I do have a controller card
that can handle larger drives, but that too doesn't see it. Can someone tell me
how I can get this drive accepted?

WD drives have a unique jumper config when they are
the only drive on a ribbon cable. Try no jumpers at all.

See above.
