So me new pc is up and running in a stable fashion . Hurray .

Now before it gets clogged up with rubbish I want to if possible ,

Make a copy me " C " drive (with OS and installed programs) , to anothere part of me hard drive so that I use it to re-install the OS and programs if I have to .

Is this possible ???

Where would I put this copy on the HDD ????

Would I leave it active or hidden ???

So me "C" drive has been trashed by a virus or something . I just re-format it and copy the "copy" to its location and I'm up and running again . Easy peasy like . No need for re-installing individual programms and endless updates . Just a couple of clicks and were back in bussiness . Yay !!

Tell me I've got this right and this is possible .

HDD partitioned at the moment ,

Unfortunately, it's not quite as simple as that.

You'll need some software such as Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image.

I use Acronis True Image, it's a fine piece of software, has saved my bacon once or twice.

It costs about £22.00 and can be downloaded from Here.

There's also a trial version you can try.

One warning: ATI will back up a RAID 0 drive but it won't recognise a RAID 0 setup when it comes to re-installation.

If you just have your operating system on a single disk, however, this doesn't matter.
