To the Group:

Apparently PartitionMagic is now part of Symantec. Tried their knowledge
base - no answer (that I could fine).

Machine is 1 Gz AMD, 640 MB RAM, plenty of disc
XP Home
Uninstalled PM-7 (that would not run)
Reinstalled, fresh install (from download'd copy)
Machine freezes upon trying to open PM-7.

Clues as to what is going on?

Alternate news site where this might be better posted?

Best Regards,
Wayne

Apparently, your so-called "download'd copy" is corrupt.
You would be better off purchasing Partition Magic 8.

Sorry, we don't assist thieves.

So-called dwnld'd copy was a proper upgrade over Ver 6.
Agree - probably best to "upgrade" again to PM 8 even though THIS one should
be XP-compatible.
Thank you for your courteous reply. (See Ms Persp.....for an alternate)

Do you always assume any downloaded copy of software is illegal? You need
to lighten up, you were no help.

I made to such assumption. I simply stated
"your so-called "download'd copy" is corrupt"
and did not imply it was an illegal copy. Please to
do misinterpret my remarks.

And what does your statement "your so-called "download'd copy" is corrupt"
mean other than insinuating the software is illegal?

Partition Magic 7 as well as updates could be downloaded legally from the
Powerquest site. I'm not certain if one can download Partition Magic now
that it is owned by Symantec.
