Hi!

My HDD is in near death stage because of the heat, so I plan to replace it
woth the identiccal model and better cooling and I want to preserve my data.
It's to big to image it as a device so I plan to image only the system and
application partition and everthing else I'll just copy.

I want identical partition setup on the new one ande preserved boot menu. Is
there a way to copy Master boot information, partition table, and partition
boots to the new HDD? Very long ago I copied partition table info from one
HDD to the other using old DOS mode Norton Disk Doctor... is there any other
solution?

Why ?
Too large to image to a file I guess, but you CAN directly clone the
old
disk to a new one, including MBR and all ...
so I plan to image only the system and

You can extract all that info to a file using my DFSee utility,
and restore it to the new disk from the file.

However, if you really have two identical disks, I would simply use
"CLONE"
to make the 2nd an identical copy in one go, including all data.

Using DFSee 6.10 or newer:

File -> Open disk to work with -> ... pick NEW disk .. (2 ?)
Actions -> Clone from whole disk -> ... pick OLD disk (1 ?)

This will make a copy of the OLD to the new disk ...

Using a bootable CD with DFSee on it makes it real easy ...
