Dear Hardware experts,

I struggle with the following problem. I can not access my windows XP
anymore. But I can access it with the repair part which I start from the
WindowsXP cd-rom instead of choosing to install windowsXP. So when I am in
that repair mode I can access my partition. but when I use fixmbr or fixboot
and restart my machien nothing wil help. If I look at the partition table
which can be accessed by the command diskpart then my there is the message
"Partition Inactive (OS/2 boot man" behind my partition.

This is how the problem is occured.
I had two Operating Systems on my computer. Linux and windowsXP. I had no
bootloader or whatsoever. Then I started the program pqboot from partition
Magic. A command line program started from which I could choose which
partition to start. I choosed the linux partition and then the computer
restarted and my machine didn't start any operating systems at all. So I
thought I start my windowsXP cdrom and use fixboot and fixMBR. but that
didn't worked out. what kan I do? after that I used my 2,8 GB to install
another windowsXP so I might get access to my other partition. but I
couldn't access the other partition as well. I can now only access my
partition from that restore/repair which can be started from the windowsXP
cd-rom.

what can I do? please help me out.

best regards,

uninstall PQ Boot
you can dual boot linux and XP by using Lilo or Grub

there is no need to use a 3rd party boot manager
