I recently installed XP Pro on my Compaq Presario 5000
after doing a Compaq QuickRestore. This returned my system
to factory setup with WinMe. The disk had been partitioned
for 3 gig on drive "D:" (labeled "DATA") and 17 gig on
drive "C:" C: is where Me resides and all the original
programs.
When I intsalled XP it kept Me on C: and intalled XP on
drive D: All subsequent programs were loaded on D:. I am
now down to 280MB on D: and would like to "reverse" this
situation by freeing up C: which is being seen as
a "system" disk. D: is the "boot" disk.
Can anyone help me with the best solution for eliminating
the data on C: (removing old Me and all other programs not
currently in use) without having to reformat the entire
disk and starting over with another XP installation? Note
that C: is formatted as FAT32, D: NTFS.
Thanks,
Gary K.
