Partial date extraction and recording.

Does anyone know a way to extract the month and year from a 'date' field and
place the month and year in separate fields called 'month' and 'year'? I
have found a way to do this using the partial date code in the ControlSource
box of the 'date' field, but it does not enter the values in the table (only
on the form itself).

Why would you want to store redundant data? This is a terrible idea. You can
calculate these values easily whenever you need them and that is what you should
do.
