I don't have any specific answer for you Mark but if it's any consolation I
tried Melbourne and either there's no news in Melbourne or it happened to me
too :)

I notice Fridays temperature is the same though - 16 - although I reckon
yours might be +16 Celsius while mine here in Iowa is -16 Fahrenheit.

My IE settings are fairly secure but not ridiculously tight (There's no
point in trying to help folks if you never see the problems) so it may help
if you can go to help>about and say what version of IE you have, maybe what
Windows version and whether it's kept updated via the update site etc. I
suspect that some security fix has been needed since they designed their
website. My IE is 6.0.2900 on XP Pro SP2, in other words fully up to date,
but I am no expert at Active Server Pages (Hence the aspx in the URL I
think).

If someone can't provide a specific answer perhaps you should drop the
Webmaster a note stating the problem, after all he's losing part of his
audience and for a professional site there's no excuse to force users to
drop their security in order to see it.

I tried adding the site to the "Trusted" zone in IE and that made no
difference by the way, still no news from Melbourne.

Hi Mark :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Are there any solutions to the IE6 missing GIF problem

IE 6 does not show all the pictures

How to test Images in IE

Open IE and for testing purposes,

Go to http://www.jpeg.org/
Right click on one of the pictures and click on 'Save picture as...'
Verify that proper file name is shown and the type is JPEG (*.jpg)
No need to actually save the picture if not wanted -

Several of these are known to cause problems:
1) Zone Alarm Pro [Private Header Info - enabled?]

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low

2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low

3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Reset "Ad Blocking" and "Cookie Control" to "medium"
"Mobile Code Control" = Off

2) Symantec (ISS\NIS)[Enable Browser Privacy - enabled]
Active Content - "Allow All Script To Execute"
Problem: some sites cannot detect the 128 bit encryption
Solution: Completely remove and reinstall NIS.

Web Pages Display a Red "X" Instead of a Graphic

3) Any "ad blocking" software that blocks "http_referrer"
or contains entries that are blocking access to the desired site.

4) HOSTS file that contains entries that are blocking access to the desired
site.

5) Cookie blocking software that are blocking "required" Cookies.

6) Pop-up blockers that are stripping header\url info.

7) WebWasher Standard Filter/URL Filter

8) Make sure the following registry entry is not corrupt:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings]
"User Agent"="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Win32)"

Note: "Win32" = Windows 98\ME
Other versions = (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0;)

To check your "User Agent":
Paste the below into the Address Bar and view the output:

javascript:navigator.userAgent

[Example WinME output]
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; Win 9x 4.90)

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)
