anyone can shed some light on "parked domain"?

What're the definition and use? Difference from similar
ones, e.g., alias?

Seems a service term, not a technical tem, right?

Thanks!

A parked domain means it has an IP assigned to it and it may have one page
with a message that the domain is parked. This means it is not being
developed or hosted, just parked. This is better than someone trying to get
to your domain and getting a 404 Error but that is all it is good for.

see some provide this type of service to redirect your
domain (website).

and it seems also can be used in corp environment to
redirect, from likely name to real name?
