I have been instructed from a moving company that I
must "park" my computer before transport. What is it that
I need to do for this function?

Hi

If the moving company means 'park the head on the hard disk', then they are about 10 years out of date. The HD 'used' to have to be 'locked down' to prevent any movement, but not now - unless you have a 'really' old PC. Computers are save to be moved, unless you employ a clumsy moving agent. Perhaps best to move all your PC equipment yourself if this company are still talking about 'parking'.

I would ask the moving company. It might mean, you unplug
every thing, and then leave it sit for a period of time
so as to discharge all electronic devices?

Personally, I would not trust my computer to a moving company. If it is
possible stick it in the backseat of your car and move it yourself.

Greed, Testy - they can even 'screw' cushions up if they put their 'minds' to it!!

I have not heard a request to park a hard drive since MY Packard Bell 286 10
MB HD.(No that wasn't my 1st computer it was actually my fourth after a
TimnexSinclair, TI 4a, and a Apple 2E with TWO Floppies)

To the best of my knowledge all HD since LBJ have been self parking.
