Hello there
I have a clients computer at the moment with a serious
problem. When it boots up it comes up with a message
saying:
Plug and Play configuration error
It then comes up with the blue screen of death with this
message:
Memory Parity Error: System Halted
I understand that a parity error is RAM related so I have
tried swaping RAM and moving it around however after this
the system either doesn't start or makes 10 beeps, I
think that this means a CMOS checksum error but am
unssure.

Any help on this?
Thanks a lot
James

Check brand and type of the mobo and goto the manufacturers site. Check the
meaning of the beepcodes. Different mobo´s have different beepcodes. It will
lead you to the solution of the problem.

Best regards,

Ben

Thanks for the help but it hasn't helped!
The mobo has no name on it except for the manufacturer of
the PC which is Dell Dimension 1800. The motherboad has
no other markings on it apart from REVA01. I have tried
swapping the RAM round to no avail, I am beginning to
think "fried motherboard". What are your thoughts?

Thanks alot
James
