hi, can any one tell me how to set up parental controls, i am running xp, i
thought there would have been something in the control panel but not so,
thank you.
 
Hi Terry,

It all depends on what you mean by 'parental controls'

If you want to restrict access to things like the ability to install /
un-install programs, keeping doctuments private, and the ability to change
system settings, then the 'User Accounts' feature on the control panel will
do what you want.

If however, you want to restrict access to certain websites and online
content, then you will need to investigate programs such as NetNanny etc.

Sorry for being a little vague, but it would help if you could post back
with more details about what you want control over.

There are no native Parental Controls in XP as there are in Vista. Since
we don't know what you want to do or what version of XP you have, here
is a general answer:

MVP Doug Knox's Security Console or the MS Steady State may do what you
want.
