Parallel Port-LED Meter

I am running an LED Meter on my Parallel port and it ran fine in 98 but in
XP Pro it gives me an error every now and then that it cant update the
LED's. If i restart teh LED program 2 times it works. Is this a problem
with the Program or XP?

P.S. The program is XP compatible

It probably depends on the actual hardware and the program that
is trying to access the hardware on the parallel port. If rapid
timing is required, then XP might not be as tolerant of the
program as 98.
 
Well, is there any suggestions you have as to repairing the problem or am I
just pretty screwed?

Not knowing exactly what a "parallel port LED meter" is, what it
does, or how it is supposed to be operated via software, not much
info can be suggested. More detailed info on the gizmo would be
required.
