Hi,
I have the optiplex Gx260 and I am running Windows 2000 on it. I am
trying to communicate with a DSP board which requires EPP mode.
How do I set my parallel port for EPP mode? I have set my BIOS for
EPP, 378H. I have gone into device manager and tried updating the
driver (Device Manager>>ECP Printer Port Properties>>Show all hardware
of this device class), but I only see options for -
Comms Port
ECP Printer Port
Multi Comms Port
Printer Port
Do I need an extra driver (download it perhaps) for EPP mode? I have
tried both ECP Printer Port and Printer Port, but to no avail. I have
managed to communicate with the DSP board on an NT machine. To this I
simply set the BIOS to EPP, 378H (as I did on the win2k machine) and
it worked first time without having to change anything in the
operating system. I am not sure how this port is configured on NT as
this OS has no device manager.
Thanks for your help,
Barry Griffin.
