Parallel port driver not recognised in Device Manager

Hi,

I'm running win 2k server.

If I look in device manager, my parallel port
reads "Parallel Output Only" with the usual yellow
exclamation mark attached to it.
The properties for this port tell me the driver is not
properly loaded. I tried to reinstall the driver and I
receive a message telling me an error occurred during
install.
I've also tried uninstalling it completely.
Is there any way around this without completelt
reinstalling W2k server?
Any suggestions would be gratefully recevied!

You will need to configure the LPT device in the computer BIOS differently.
Reboot and enter the computer setup before the operating system starts.

Try ECP or bidirectional first.

Thanks for your suggestion Alan, appreciate you looking
over my problem.
I did give this a go but I'm still getting the same
problem. I removed the parallel port from device manager
and then changed the BIOS on reboot. I did this several
times, for each of the available options in the BIOS (ECP
bidirectional and also I think parallel out only).

Each time I restarted win2k serv, it detected new hardware
and proceeded to try and load the driver. Each time it
failed to load the driver. I think it may be corrupt. Is
there an easy downloadable driver anywhere? As I've
serached all over the microsoft site.
