Hi,
I wonder if anyone may be able to shed light on the mystery of
why I cannot seem to download Paperless Printer from the
Rarefinds site.
Using the home page idex address
http://www.rarefind.com/paperlessprinter/downloads/
I can select either version 2.0 or 3.0 and the download begins as
normal, but after transfer of just over 400 KB the download
stops.
When using Opera v6.04 as browser, the download then begins again
but when it reaches approximately the same transfer amount as
before, the download stops and won't resume. Have tried several
times over a period of 2 days.
From memory, on the download stopping the second time, after the
resume, I once saw a message saying "size mismatch".
Trying an alternative browser (an old version of Netscape - 3.0)
the behaviour is similar. After transfer of just over 400 KB it
stops and displays an error message informing me that the
"connection was reset by peer" and Netscape abandons the process.
I haven't had this kind of problem before and can download OK
from other sites. Just wondering if anyone can throw any light
on the problem - presumably others have tried downloading this
software as it has been mentioned several times recently in ACF.
PS I also tried the zdnet site, but it redirects to the one
above.
TIA
