my computer has xp pro. it wont boot up, it gave the message "lo
battery " it is a desk top it also has a noisy case fan. could tha
prevent it from booting

Possible. "Low battery" may mean that the CMOS battery needs to be
replaced. This battery helps maintain the bios settings, one of which
relates to the physical characteristics of the hard drive. Without
this information, the computer cannot boot. As for a noisy case fan,
replace it but it should not prevent the computer from booting.
