I go to "New User" newsgroup site because alot of people
have the same questions I do. If I read over old Posts I
can find alot of information.
Except at this site!
All the answer are the same! Go to MY web-site and read
etc...
Well I've been to your web-site for a question I had. It
wasn't answered even though you said it would be.
That's the answer you give to everyone? "GO TO MY WEB-
SITE"
I come HERE for information on questions everybody has.
Give us answers HERE! (at this NEWSGROUP) It makes
getting answers to questions I may have not even thought
of yet, easially optainable.
Thank You, lorie a Windows movie maker junkie

Lorie,

I started on this newsgroup by responding to many posts. And people
complained that I was repeating the same answer over and over, as you would
expect for software that millions of people have and many issues are
common.

So I started the website to have a place to put the information about
issues, work-arounds and resolutions. But most newsgroup posters are not
aware of the website, no matter how many posts have references to it.

I don't claim to have all the answers on my website. So if you go there and
are not helped, you have to seek additional info elsewhere or from someone
else. Each person with their own computer has to do their own figuring out.
Most people don't know the website is there, and most that go to it think it
helps.

As the world turns we don't go backwards. That's what it would be if I
started copying my answers from the website to each post. My responses to
posts are not just generic 'go to my website' ones. They point the poster to
the most appropriate page or section or paragraph. And if my website doesn't
have info that might help, I don't respond to the post.

You, of all people to post this!! I'm not following or understanding what
you are suggesting. You made 3 posts to the newsgroup in the past 8 months.
To your first post, I pointed you to the online tutorials page of the site,
with links to tutorials. To the second post, I gave you lots of info and
asked for some additional info - with no reference to my website. And this
is your third post - and again I'm responding with no reference to my
website.

I might be able to help more if you provide the info that I asked for
regarding your last post. If you are here for answers, we need the extra
info about your problem(s).

Thanks for any comments and suggestions. What's the answer to my last
question about your problem?

Um, am I missing your point here, Lorie?

I'm a MM2 newbie. You may be too, I don't know, but I can't be sure from
your post. I'm not a usenet newbie, I'm an active contributor to a couple
of other newsgroups. However, since I started using MM2 about a week ago
I've started lurking (and making the odd contribution) here.

Just like other newsgroups, it's pretty common for seasoned NG contributors
to refer you to a web site (or google groups, for that matter). There's a
high chance you'll find the answer to your question there.

Remember, people in these NGs are users, like you, not necessarily experts -
we don't always have all the answers! In the last week I've found this NG
to be a great pointer for hints and tips on MM2, but I don't expect anybody
to have direct answers to my questions - after all, my system isn't the same
as the next guy's.

Finally, try asking again - somebody who has the answer may have missed your
post the first time around.

Stay cool

Jake

Out of interest, what was the question you wanted answered?
