After transferring my videos from my new Sony TRV22 into movie maker, I can
save them, manipulate the clips, etc. but I have no sound. I have checked
all the Mute points, and all settings but can't get sound to work.

Do you, or others, have any solutions? Don S.

ME too!!
I can hear the sound while video is being recorded,
but not when I play back after editing.

Help!!

Hi Don,

Are you capturing via a firewire connection or USB? If by firewire, audio is
automatically transferred with the video.

What format is the captured file? Do your hear the audio when playing the
captured file in the Windows Media Player?

I'm not sure about the other guy, but I'm running my Camcorder through a TV
card via a coax cable and Audio/video wires. I can also run video via a
s-vhs cable, but then have problem with no sound.
I have tried to play via WMP but still no sound.
Thanks.

Don - Check the configuration of your sound card and make
sure that your line-in port is configured for line in. I
found that my sound card was set to surround sound and
the line-in port then gets changed to "sub woofer out",
amking line-in mute. Make sure your system is set up for
2 speakers instead so that line-in functions.

Of course, your case may be different than mine, but this
was a fix for me!

I'd think that you would be best transferring by firewire. Lacking that,
it's the sound cable to your sound card that would be passing the audio info
to the computer as the USB passes the video.

Papa John - I just found some movies that I recorded several months ago and
transferred to the computer several months ago. When I play them with
Windows Media Player all the sound is there. Apparently I must have changed
something so that my latest movies have no sound after transferring to the
computer. I've checked all sound settings and can't find one where the sound
is turned off. Your thoughts??

I guess you need to determine if the sound is in the file and you can't hear
it, versus no sound track in the file. Some detective work. Gather all the
clues you can.

Can you narrate a movie, play back the narration, and hear it?

Can you see wave patterns in a file when viewing the video on the timeline
of MM2?

Solved the problem . Bought Pinnacle Studio DV with a firewire card and it
works great. Movie Maker will be sh*t canned.
