Can anyone recommend a printer that will produce panoramic prints, perhaps
up to three to four feet long. I have two HP printers ( 720 and 940) and I
am disappointed that they cannot do this.

This is a tricky area. You can certainly get panoramic prints on the Epson
2100 and 1290 but various applications may impose different limits.
Photoshop can only print up to 44" but Qimage can do prints up to 100" wide
and 600" high. Paint Shop Pro 7 can also do long prints - e.g. I've heard
of prints 10ft long being done. Panoramic prints can also be done on Canon
printers using banner mode but perhaps not on all operating systems.
Whether Qimage gives more flexibility here I don't know. It seems that the
manufacturers' specifications cannot be relied upon to tell you what you
want to know.

Are you sure they can't? Don't they have a banner printing mode for long
paper?
