Panasonic CF41 Laptop CD Problems

Hi there,
I have been given the challenge of fixing a Panasonic CF41 Laptop and I cannot find a package anywhere that will fix the cd rom.

It has been fomatted in the past and the drivers for the cd rom have never been found.

Can anyone help me?
 
i'll give it a go, the microsoft drivers should have installed themselves, open the device manager

right click My computer> properties> hardware tab> device manager

are there any icons with a yellow exclamation mark?

I only have Windows 95 as the laptop is not compatable with anything after this.

Any other ideas???
 
ok not really familiar with win95 but if you pull up the device manager

I have gone into this and on the device manager tab, there is a section 'cd controllers' and there is a exclamation mark against 'Mitsumi CD-ROM Controller with Double Speed'

thats the problem, you need to install the driver for it

in the device manager double click the CD-ROM controller and a window will pop up, then click the driver tab at the top, now click the update driver then go to

next, leave it to Search for a better driver and click next, tell it to search windows update and click next ( make sure you are connected to the net), and it should install the driver for you
 
Don't think Windows 95 supports the pull driver from Windows Update feature.

Have a search for the cd-rom name on google, should bring up a few driver sites :)
