panasonic camcorder

help...can any one tell me how to get my panasonic
digital camcorder working on xp? it seems to be not
recognised by xp?

What model of Panasonic camcorder?

I have a PV-DV800... connect via firewire cable, turn on in VCR mode and
it's seen immediately.
