Hi folks,
I've had the Palm's "HotSync Manager 3.1.2" software running on WinXP for
some time now, with no problems connecting to my COM1 port for syncing.
However, recently when it launches at startup, it puts up the following
HotSync Manager error dialog:
"The selected port, COM1, is not available at this time.
HotSync Manager will open the port when it becomes available."
Understandably, now I can no longer sync my Palm with Outlook.
I think it might have been XP's "Remote Desktop Connection" software,
because I've used that recently, and it takes over the COM1 port. However,
not only have I disabled the COM1 port setting on the RDC software, but I'm
not even running it (and I've restarted the computer). However, the COM1
port still seems to be busy.
Anyone have any ideas?
Is there any place I can look to see what is using the COM1 port?
BTW, my computer is fairly new, and only has 1 COM port, so I obviously
can't just switch to COM2.
Thanks
Greg
