New Palm Tungsten E is not syncing Outlook 2002 Calender. Palm says it is a Microsoft problem. I downloaded all patches etc from both sides (MS and Palm). Reloaded software per Palm etc. All Oultloook items sync fine except the calender

Any ideas? Otherwise Palm goes back to the store.

Hey Bruce

This may be a simplistic suggestion, but if all your other Outlook items are fine except for Calender you may wish to check to make sure that your conduit for the Calender is set to synchronize. This is done by selecting the Hotsync icon in your tray and selecting custom to see your present settings. It may be set to "Do Nothing.

Other than that it might be a Chapura setting that needs to be changed. Click on Chapura Settings on your Outlook toolbar and select the appropriate user. This will open a Synch Preferences window where you will be able to see how your Sync is set. To change individual settings double click on the conduit you wish to modify (say Calender) and then customize to suit

Hope this helps. Let me know how you do ..

Thanks Sven

I gave up, taking the thing back. The newest Palms do not use Chapura, they have something different. I spoke to Palm help and they blamed MS. I quit. I reloaded the software, edited the registry, and tried their trick settings. I even installed it on another Dell laptop, different model with XP, not 2000. Still did not work; syncs all Outlook but Calender. I find it hard to believe it would be a hardware problem as I would think it would effect all syncs

The only odd thing I had on both machines is that I had moved the Outlook data file to My Documents (for easier backup procedure). However it still sync'ed all of the other stuff such as addresses which are stored in that one file

No Palm in my future. Time for another brand.
