could someone please tell me how to crop a persons face onto another pic in
paint jasc shop? i am trying to make a funny slide show. thanks a lot

I'm using Version 6 of PSP, but other versions should be "similar"

1.) open the image (IMAGE1) with the face you want to paste onto the other
photo,
then, use the square "dashed" bounding box to select the face and EDIT/COPY
and EDIT/PASTE AS NEW image (IMAGE2) to have a new file show up with just the
face and small area surrounding around it...try to get as close to the
head/face as possible...
2.) close the original IMAGE1 file to save memory and since you're done with
it...don't save changes when prompted to leave original intact.
3.) next open the file into which you wish to paste (IMAGE3) , make sure
that it's at the size you will want the finished product....if not, resize
using IMAGE/RESIZE and give a percentage until it's bigger or smaller than
the original, but the size you want.
make sure that you can see both IMAGE2 and IMAGE3 side by side to compare
the original face size and make sure the head is not too big or small.(use
WINDOW/CASCADE and move each pic around by grabbing it's title bar and left
mouse dragging it. NOTE: You may also have to adjust the angle the head is
at...select IMAGE2 and use IMAGE/ROTATE and give a number in degrees, 1 to
360 for how much off perpindicular you need it to be..you can also compare
skin tones, and use the COLORS/ADJUST/BRIGHTNESS or HUE etc. until skin tones
match as close as desired...
4.) I like to then use the lasso selector tool to select just the face or
head from image2 GO SLOW and get as CLOSE as possible to the edge of the
head/face w/o cutting anything off you want to keep...edit/undo if you screw
up and move it accidentally or delete it...when you've got just what you want
of the face selected, choose EDIT/COPY
5.) while still on IMAGE2 choose SELECTIONS/SELECT ALL and hit DELETE on
your keyboard, this will give you a blank canvass and hit EDIT PASTE as new
selection which will copy just the head/face onto that page...zoom in for
fine control under
VIEW/ZOOM IN BY 1 to get ready to edit any artifacts from the edges of the
head or face you don't want...
6.) CHOOSE VIEW/TOOLBARS and make sure TOOL OPTIONS WINDOW is
checked...click the RETOUCH tool (hand with index finger pointing) and then
look at the tool options and make the tool size 1 or 2 pixels wide...(adjust
higher for bigger picture.)
7.) CHOOSE SELECTIONS/SELECT ALL so you can modify the whole image and start
by left clicking a blank pixel outside the face and swoop the mouse slowly
towards the face until the pixels that are NOT face are replaced with
"nothing". continue this all around the image...until you're only left with
blank space and the face. CHOOSE EDIT/SELECT ALL /EDIT/COPY to copy the face
into memory and EDIT PASTE as NEW IMAGE (IMAGE4) to have it ready to use...
8.) Open image3 (the one you're pasting into) and sometimes you'll be able
to paste right over the top of the face, othertimes, you may have to use the
lasso and delete the face, lasso and EDIT/CUT then open IMAGE4,
SELECTIONS/SELECT ALL
EDIT COPY open IMAGE3, EDIT PASTE and drag to where you want it to go. If
the edges are "rough" or bad, you can use the RETOUCH tool to "color" in the
areas so they match as best they can...

9.)FILE SAVE AS and give it a new name and you've got your new face on
someone elses body.

ENJOY! If it doesn't work, give more specifics about exactly what you wanna
do!
