paging or swapfile

In previous windows version, one could set windows for minimum swapfile
usage. I think this was done in the 386enh section of System.ini.
If there a similar command for Windows XP. I have one gig of ram and
windows is going to the use of a paging file much earlier than I would want
thanks in advance.

My Computer (right click) properties > advanced > perfomance settings >
advanced > virtual memory > change.
