I have tried to change the paging file size in XP Pro to
a very low number. I have tried to change it to 2-500 and
hit "set." However When I restart my computer it still
has the recommended size allocted. I have tried to
change it in safe mode but it still stays at 765. Any
Ideas??? Thanx

Peter, if you only have a single hard drive, you would be better off letting
Windows control the paging file size, by clicking - system managed size. It
will shrink and expand as required.

If you have a second hard drive, create a paging file partition on the first
part of the drive of about 750 mb. and click - system managed size.
Then on C: drive set the Min at 10 mb. and Max at 50 mb. (this is needed on
C: drive to take care of trouble shooting debug)

Yes, create a partition dedicated to the paging file.
