My computer is a P4, 2.2ghz, with 1G ram, I continously
get a msg stating that my paging file is too small. I
have set it to the max allowed, and still recieve this
error msg on startup. I have about 20% free space, and
not a lot of programs connected to start-up.
Any suggestions for correcting this?

Have you set a minimum and maximum size, or let windows set it for you ?

How big is it, have a look in the root directory of whatever disk drive you
set it to use.

With 1GB of RAM it shouldn't need to be all that big. I have 512MB RAM and
my paging file is only 256MB. Admittedly I don't run any memory hungry
applications.

Do you scan for viruses regularly? Some viruses hog memory.

Go into task manager, Processes and see whats using the memory, look in the
Mem Usage and VM Size Columns

You may need to add them if they are not there. View/Select Columms
