My P111 833 cannot locate a "paging file" which appears to
be related to virtual memory allocation. The error message
is quite explicit and gives instuctions to increase the
amount of virtual memory through the System CP;
unfortunately, this does not result in a permanent fix, and
upon reboot, the same error message appears. Is there a
solution?

Many thanks,

John

I have the same issue, I get The system has no paging
file, or the paging file is too small. This happens
logging into a windows domain from a win 2K pro machine.

I have found the Microsoft article 259151 for the fix,
however I can never log into the system to change the
page file size, Windows 2k pro simply sits there for
several seconds and kicks back to the Ctrl+Alt+Del
screen. Does the same thing in Safe Mode or not connected
to the network.

I have also seen this happen twice when imaging from a
smaller harddrive to a larger harddrive to upgrade to
more space. Gone from 6gig to 10gig and 6 gig to 60 gig
with the same result. Put the original drives back in and
can get into windows fine.

Is there a back door way into Win 2k Pro to adjust
pagefile and permissions ???

Any help would be great thanks so much!!!!!

If you can't boot into Windows 2000 then there is more going on then
permissions impacting paging file. You should always at least be able to
boot into safe mode. About the only thing you can do is put the drive
into a working system and check permissions from a working copy of
Windows 2000.
