I have installed some learning software for my boys that
on starting says it needs 3mb minimum of virtual memory
to run. The PC has a custom configured size 1536 - 3072.
But all the "reporting" software I have only "sees"
around about 2mb. I've tried changing it, letting windows
manage it and other suggestions from the Knowledge Base.
None made any difference. Rather annoying seeing as 75%
of 1Gb of RAM is sitting idle.
All help appreiciated

It is actually a problem of having to large a pagefile. I
had the same problem with one of my kids games. With that
much physical memory installed you should change the
maximum size allowed to 500mb or under. I ended up with a
static size of 200mb to fix my problem. Evidently the
game can not recognize a large pagefile so it sees no
pafefile at all.
