I have just had some repairs done on this computer. I am using W98 and
IE6 and a dial up ISP. i can get to many websites such as Yahoo,
ATTWorldnet, Ebay Google etc. I can also access my accounts in my
credit union so I don't think it is a security issue. But when I try
Adobe.com or Vanguard.com I get page not found. We have a second
computer that uses the same telephone line and ISP and there are no
problems with that computer.
Thanks for any and all help, it will be appreciated.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

I set my options on Windows Explorer so that hidden files will show
and also the file extensions will show. I then did a find on "Host".
The only results I got were host.sam and lmhost.sam. I need something
for plan B.
Thanks.

If you're using WinXP:
In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.
