On booting I get an error message that says I have an
improper size page file or it does not exist. It will
create a 2 mb page file and I should go to the performance
tab and reset the page file.

I go to the performance taband the page file is set
properly. I check the drive and the file does exist and
is the size that the minimum set is on. I have tried to
reset the pagefile and nothing seems to help. Need a fix
and or what causes this. This is my 4th machine to do
this.
