I have a XP client pc that is missing it's pagefile.sys
file.
How can I restore this file?

Go into system properties and check the advanced tab and then system
performance. Make sure the virtual memory is set to system manage and click
the "set" button, reboot if prompted.

Been there done that, don't work. The file is not on the
machine, period, gone, non exsistant, wont reproduce by
itself.

Thanks though

You are viewing all files aren't you, make sure "Hide Protected Operating
system files" is not selected within folder options.

Other than that I haven't a clue.

Open Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and look for an entry for
the Intel Application Accelerator. If it is listed then select it and
click on Add/Remove to uninstall it. Reboot the computer and your
problem should be resolved.

And if the Intel Application Accelerator was installed then you should
go to www.intel.com and download the latest version of the Intel
Application Accelerator and install it.

And if that is not applicable or if it does not resolve the issue then
see MVP Alex Nichol's article on virtual memory in Windows XP at
http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm especially the section on problems.

Good luck
