Pagefile error at startup

I've scoured the previous posts on this issue.

I get an error that says my pagefile is missing or too
small. I've deleted the file, restored one from backup,
neither with any success. In at least one MS KB article
it tells your to adjust the file size etc. upon logon but
I never get past the logon screen. Nothing I've tried has
worked thus far.

I've tried everything but a reload of Windows, which I
really don't want to do unless I'm left with no other
option.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I can edit the Registry
remotely if that helps.

Thanks,
Paul Ableman

Have you been playing with permissions on the root of your drive. See here.

I'm having that problem with logging in, and "pagefile too small o
missing" in windows 2000. This is after a partition copy of a har
drive to a new hard drive. Booting to the new hard drive without th
old hard drive in the system causes this.

The pagefile from the old hard drive is still being used, even if
creat / modify pagefile.sys on the new drive, even if the new drive i
set active, and is set to be the boot drive. A workaround or solutio
is needed
