Donna, I've run into this problem on a number of occasions where a page
simply REFUSES to delete. There are a number of reasons why this happens.
The two major causes of pages that won't go away (IMHO) is either you've got
a lot of empty returns in the document, or you've got a page or section
break inserted in the document. To see whether either of these two scenarios
are true, simply click the Show/Hide paragraph icon (its on the far right of
the standard toolbar at the top of your Word documents). This will make
visible all sorts of interesting things going on behind the scenes of your
document. If you see a lot of paragraph marks going down the blank page,
then deleting them will most likely take care of your problem. If you see
two tight dotted lines across the page, then you've got a page or section
break forcing the document onto another page. Putting your cursor on that
line and pressing delete will remove the break.
In some very desperate situations where I did not have time to fool around,
I've simply copied the text and pasted it into a brand new blank Word
document. Others may have had different experiences, but for me, the extra
page doesn't copy over with the text.
