Page Won't Load in Firefox

A colleague in our volunteer organization uses Firefox. Sometimes, she
cannot reach our site, and reports that Firefox quits before the site can
load. Sometimes, she has no problem. She reports she has had no problem
with any other sites. What might be the problem?

Loads OK in FireFox2, but does take a long time to load.
Loads speedily in IE7.

Note that the Java does not display in either browser since I, like most
other users, do not have a JVM installed.

Thank you. I removed the Java add-on, and it seemd to have eliminated the
problem.
