page view gone

For some reason all of a sudden, my Front page won't let
me see page view so I can't edit my web pages, instead,
there is a blank gray box where the page view used to be.
I can see all folder views, but I have tried to uninstall
and re-install with default settings etc. Has anyone seen
this?
