Is it possible to get XP to scroll a page by dragging the mouse against
the bottom of the screen? I know it was possible in 98SE, which was
great for me when deleting large numbers of picture files. So is it
possible to get XP to do the same?
Thank you for your time.

If you have a three button mouse you can. Otherwise you have to use the
scroll bar on the right.

The scroll wheel is the third button. The wheel can be rotated to move a
page up and down or the wheel can be depressed to drag the page up and down.

Dragging doesn't work in all programs.

Open Mouse Properties...
Start | Run | Type: main.cpl | Click OK |
Wheel tab to set scrolling options

Scrolling
[[Defines how far a page scrolls when you roll the wheel one notch. You can
scroll a specific number of lines or an entire screen.

A screen is different depending on the size of your window and the program
you are using. It is equivalent to using the PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN keys on
your keyboard, or to clicking the scroll bar.]]

While in the display window (the one w/ text or whatever), press the mouse
left button and move the cursor down (or up) to the edge of the window. If
it does not scroll, move the cursor ligntly under (or above for up scroll)
the display window (i.e. you should be in tool bar (or menu bar) and move
the mouse slightly left and right. Faster you move the mose, faster you
scroll.

This is a function of some programs, not of the operating system.

You might want to invest $15 or so in a mouse with a scroll wheel.
Most programs seem to scroll in response to that.

I have a Logitech optical wheel mouse. I can scroll the page, but what I want
to be able to do his scroll the page whilst pressing the right mouse button
so I can highlight all the pictures I want to delete at one time, rather than
having to delete one page then scolling down and deleting the next page, etc.

Sorry, I didn't explain that properly first time.
