Hello,

I am having a problem with a user. He phoned me saying that when he goes on
a particular website he clicks on a link and the page refreshes instead of
going to the next page. When i checked it on my computer the web page works
fine and does not refresh.

I had a quick look and reset the advanced settings to medium and the
security settings to medium. I did this on my machine and his and he still
could not get in and I could.

The website is www.cclondon.com

* Click on "pay charge" in red under login
* On the next page there is a red button next to "Not registered customers
* When he clicks on this the page refreshes.
* The next page should show "pay charge information"

I am going to connect to his machine this afternoon and go through his
settings one by one and compare them to mine. I also done a spyware scan with
Spybot 1.4 and a virus scan with AVG antivirus. Some spyware was found but
once removed and the computer restarted I still had the problem.

Can anyone suggest anything before i have a look at it this afternoon. If it
doesn't work i may have to install another browser but i don't really want to
do this for the sake of a webpage.

Many thanks

Luke

Hi Luke,

Windows versions of the 2 Computers?

There are ActiveX controls on the pages that you mentioned and I am prompted
to allow them to install which refreshes the page but I am allowed to
navigate once the ActiveX has been allowed.

Also the links open in a new window, so settings for "Reuse browser windows
for links" may be the culpret.

Also any Add-in toolbars? I am working on another machine that has been
hijacked and New Windows does not work, but I have not located the problem
yet, but I am pretty sure it is a toolbar that I recently installed for
testing.

Regards.

Thanks for your reply.

Both machines are XP! He did have yahoo and google toolbar. But he wanted to
keep his google toolbar. Maybe this has something to do with it.

I checked all the activeX settings and none were in disable. They were
either on enable or prompt. Strange?!?!?!?

I have now installed firefox for him just in case it happens with another
site. But still a bit confused. I need to ask him where the XP disk is as I
could reinstall IE6

Thanks for your help

Luke
