Page Numbers - sequential

The print preview in my headers is different than the output - I've had it work before where I need to show Page X of X - it appears that way in preview but prints out Page 1 of 1, 2 of 2, etc. For some reason now it is now working - I've tried using fields - am using Word 2000 - can anyone offer suggestions???

Appreciate the inputs - my verision of Office 2000 apparently has the SR1 update - still does not work unless I use the Print Preview 2 Times Method - any other permanent solution other than upgrading Office version

One thing you can try as an experiment. The "Page X of Y" function is
implemented using a { NUMPAGES } field code. Just try changing it to a
{ numpages } field code. i.e. retype it in lower case. This
strange-seeming fix works for a closely-related problem and might work
for this one. If you try it, let us know whether or not it works. I
don't have a defective document to test it with.
